How did Gordon Ramsay get into cooking?
Gordon Ramsay The Chef could have been Gordon Ramsay The Footballer if fate did not intervene. At the age of 12 he played at 'under-14s' level for "Warwickshire", at 18 he tried to get into "Rangers" football club, who he was a fan of, but a serious injury to his knee ended his career on the football field. Ramsay than radically changed his career path and enroled in college to study Hotel Management. He then moved his studies to the restaurant kitchens of London and Paris. His first job after college was at "Harvey's" where he worked under Marco Pierre White. Two years later he worked in Le Gavroche where he learned classic French cuisine from chef Albert Roux. Next is "La Tante Claire" in Chelsea, London.

Ramsay discovered that he is also has an eye for business by opening 9 restaurants and 2 pubs in Britain and 12 restaurants outside UK.
