How did Jamie Oliver get into cooking?

Jamie began his love affair with cooking at his parent's pub/restaurant, the Cricketers which is located in Essex, England. After leaving school he went on to train at Westminster Catering College, UK. If you're thinking of following in Jamie's footsteps then be aware that Westminster College merged with Kingsway College in 2000 and is now known as Westminster Kingsway College.

Following on from his formal education at college Jamie when to on work in a number of restaurants and spent over three years at the River Cafe. It was here he received his first taste of the TV limelight when he appeared in the documentary "River Cafe". He clearly made a good impression as he was later offered his own show "The Naked Chef". The rest as they say is history.
